what is breathholding spell...and what are its symptoms..How it is different from seizure

ExpertDr. Mohammed imranPaediatrician4 years agoA. hibparent, breath holding spell is a kind of abnormal behaviour in a child usually cordless where the baby stops breathing following and emotional event, usually associated with iron deficiency anaemia, self resolving in nature
counterpart seizures present as deafening of the limbs where the sensorium of the child is compromised....

Jasmine KaurMom of a 9 yr 3 m old boy4 years agoA. Hello dear parent, breath holding spells means when a child does not take next breadth for a while and turns blue in colour.
And seizure is totally different. It includes jerking movements of arms and legs, loss of consciousness ,loss of bladder control, etc
But must consult with your paediatric once if you need accurate difference between the two
