My son was almost potty trained he used to not even pee from night till morning but nowadays suddenly he pees in his sleep even during morning and afternoon. But not when he is awake he tells when he wants to pee. Is this normal at this age or shd this be discussed with a doctor

No he has completed potty training from past 6 months he used to tell and not pee when sleeping he is completely trained.. But suddenly from past 5 days he's been showing this behaviour of peeing in sleep. Can I consider it due to winter weather or shd this be shown to a doctor

potty training and toilet training should be initiated as soon as the child completes one and half years of age. avoid before that except if you feel that the child is giving cues when he or she wants to pass stool. 
also good demonstration has to be given again and again to the child to reinforce the habit.
make the child sit on potty seat daily so that the child gets accustomed and not fearful of the seat and situation

please be patient as after starting training it may take 6 months also for the child to learn.
