Q.
my son suffering from mumps from yesterday. because of mumps he got fever and he is unable to take the food. please suggest and let me know how many days it will be there.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. mumps is a type of viral infection. it is due to infection in the parotid gland which is type of salivary gland. it is a self limiting illness and the child will improvde in 4 to 7 days. it can involve one side or both sides of the jaw where parotid gland is present. symptomatic treatment is given in the form of paracetamol and warm compress can be done xto decrease the swelling. please remain in contact with your doctor for treatment. it can be prevented by giving mmr vaccination.
