Q.

my son is 6 month old and he is underweight what to do to gain his weight as till now he doesn't turn properly by himself. what food can you suggest to give him as he grows properly.

A. Hello mom as per his age he can now be introduced to weaning foods , you can give a mix of liquids and semi solids and soft consistency foods such as porridge made with ragi or suji or multigrain mix , Kichidi, steamed vegetables or soups or fresh fruit juices or purée

A. Dear mum, for healthy weight gain of your 6 months old baby, give homemade balanced diet having variety of food groups. You can give foods like ragi porridge, homemade cerelac, cereal pulse, kheer, vegetable purée, khichadi, dal rice. Seasonal fruits purée Curd, paneer. Add ghee to every meal and squeeze lemon wherever possible. Give 2 to 3 meals a day and up to half katori every time. Continue to breastfeed.
