A. Health drinks are not necessary if you give homemade food fruits and vegetables and if non vegetarian then give eggs fish chicken etc. If you want to give then give as your doctor's advice. a t years old should be eating more than what you mentioned. Also solid should be given from sixth months onwards to have. a good eating habit. The best way to transition into solids is to start with finger foods. At beginning start with steamed veggies and fruits. Let the child handle the food. They can chew food even without gums but for that it needs time, practice and above all exposures. Avoid choking hazards. steamed carrot, steamed broccoli, steamed okra, steamed beans, paper thin slices of apples, avocado slices are some great option to start with. At the beginning gagging may happen, but that's how they learn to chew. Do not expect to happen in a day or two, since the baby was on pureed food for long, it will take some time. offer one solid in a day and rest of the meals as it is in pureed form and slowly make all meals solid.
