my son has got lymph node in his neck...is it normal in kids

If It is not showing any kind of pain or anything then it is completely normal but still to be on the safer side once can you check with your doctor to figure out what exactly it is and if there is any harm in having it there are you have to get it extracted or let it be just the same me
