Q.

My daughter Meera is having fever for almost two days, whenever you give Sumol, the fever subsides but after 7 hours the fever comes back,

A. Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours agvgain if required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid preparations. cold sponging of the whole body with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .

A. If The fever does not subside in maximum 72 hours then it is important to get it checked with your doctor you may have to go for a blood test to know whether your child is having some viral infection which is why the fever is repeated so wait for one more day otherwise consult your doctor
