A. If your 9-year-old child has frequent anger issues, it's important to understand that this can be a way of expressing unmet emotional needs, frustration, or stress. At this age, children are learning to manage big emotions, but they may not always have the tools to do so effectively. Start by observing what triggers the anger—is it during schoolwork, social situations, being told "no," or when feeling misunderstood? Try to talk calmly after the anger passes and encourage your child to express feelings in words. Routine, sleep, and a balanced diet also play a major role in emotional regulation. Teach calming techniques like deep breathing, counting to 10, or using a calm-down space. Reinforce positive behavior with praise. Avoid harsh punishment, and instead, set clear, consistent limits. If the anger is frequent, intense, affecting school or family life, or comes with aggression or sadness, consider consulting a child psychologist or counselor to help your child develop emotional coping skills. Early support makes a big difference.
