Q. my baby weighed 3.3 kgs at the time of birth.now she is 1 yr and is weighing 8.5 kgs..is that the correct weight

Bhurabi BharaliMom of a 5 yr 11 m old boy
A. no she is slightly underweight...... generally the baby losses his weight in the first few weeks and then start to gain it back... the baby's birth weight get double by 4 months... and after that the weight gain process slows down... it gets triple by the first birthday.. don't worry too much about the weight gain if the baby is healthy and active otherwise... For weight gain... you should give him banana, peaches, papaya, apple, pear, sapota, ghee, butter, whole cream yoghurt, cheese, paneer, avacado, sweet potatoes, potatoes, ragi, pumpkin, yellow moong, tuhar and urad dal, peas, Dalia, soyabean, tofu, corn, home made cerelac, egg , meat ( if non vegetarian), dry fruits, peanut butter, chickpea, rajma, dates, etc to increase the baby weight... You should give him full cream cow milk...
