Q.
My baby is suffering from cough and having mucus in throat. Giving medicine prescribed by doctor since last Saturday but still condition same what to do ???

nishiMom of 2 children2 years agoA. The mucus in infants is stubborn and takes time to clear off.Breastfeed at regular intervals as it soothes the baby,make sure u burp the baby.Take good care and be close to the baby.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussgtives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
