POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy9 months agoA. Mouthing is a normal developmental phase for babies, especially around 3 months of age. It's how they explore the world and learn about different textures, shapes, and sensations. Mouthing also helps prepare them for feeding and speech development.
It’s best not to stop your baby entirely from mouthing but to make sure what they put in their mouth is safe. Here are a few tips:
1. Offer safe teething toys: Choose toys specifically designed for babies to chew on, and make sure they are soft and made from non-toxic materials.
2. Keep items clean: Regularly clean toys, pacifiers, and other items the baby is likely to put in their mouth.
3. Supervise and remove unsafe objects: Make sure small items, which could be a choking hazard, are out of reach.
Mouthing will reduce as your baby grows and finds other ways to explore.
