A. Only blood in poop is of concern. Rest all is normal as it depends whatever baby eats or consumes….poop colour will depend accordingly

A. Black stools in an 8-month-old baby can sometimes be concerning, but the cause can vary. Here are some possible reasons for black stools: 1. **Iron Supplements**: If your baby is taking iron supplements or formula with added iron, it can cause stools to appear black. This is usually harmless. 2. **Dietary Changes**: Certain foods, like blueberries or dark green vegetables, can sometimes darken stool color. 3. **Blood in Stool**: Black, tarry stools can also indicate the presence of digested blood, which could be due to a gastrointestinal issue or bleeding higher up in the digestive tract. This is more serious and requires medical attention. ### What to Do: - **Check Recent Diet**: Review any recent changes in your baby's diet or supplements. - **Observe Other Symptoms**: Monitor for other symptoms like discomfort, vomiting, or changes in appetite. - **Consult Your Pediatrician**: If the black stools persist or if you have concerns about possible blood in the stool, contact your pediatrician for a thorough evaluation. They can determine the cause and provide appropriate advice or treatment. It's always best to err on the side of caution and consult a healthcare professional when you notice unusual changes in your baby's stool.
