It is recommended to introduce semi solid foods in baby's diet between the age of 5-6 months as by then their immunity and digestive system develop a bit. Start slow with 4-6 spoons per serving and twice a day. Give foods like lentil puree, mashed banana, apple, carrot and pear puree, mixed vegetable soup, khichdi, ragi and sooji porridge, home made cerelac, etc.

This is because only milk provides all the necessary nutrients. And early solid foods will lead to stomach upset and constipation.
