my baby is 2yrs old. last two days she is having severe cough. which medicine is best for her. Also is it must to go to hospital for cough?

DR SHIWAJIRAO PATILGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Hello, your baby girl is 25 months old and she is having a severe cough so if she doesn’t have any fever then give her steam inhalation and syrup Tus Q D 3 ml three times a day

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is theruie paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
