A. Rashes on a baby’s leg can be caused by various factors. Here are a few common reasons for rashes in infants and some tips to help: Diaper Rash: This is very common in babies and can appear on the legs if the diaper area is irritated or wet for a long time. Keep the area clean and dry, and use a diaper rash cream. Heat Rash (Prickly Heat): Heat rash occurs when sweat gets trapped in the sweat glands. It appears as small red bumps and is often found on areas that are covered by clothing. Keep your baby cool, dress them in loose clothing, and use a mild baby lotion. Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis): Eczema can cause red, itchy rashes that may appear on the legs. It is often linked to allergies. Use fragrance-free moisturizers and avoid potential irritants. Allergic Reaction: New products like soaps, lotions, or even certain fabrics can cause an allergic rash. Check if you've introduced any new products that could be causing irritation. Infections: Sometimes, bacterial or viral infections can cause rashes. If the rash looks swollen, warm, or has pus, it might be an infection. If the rash persists, gets worse, or is accompanied by fever or other symptoms, it’s best to consult with your pediatrician to determine the exact cause and appropriate treatment.
