Q.
my baby has fever .. everytime i give paracetamol fever comes back in few hours.. so 4 dosea od paracetamol i gave alrweady before 24 hours completion. .can i give one more does if required? is thr any harm if i gave another one if required and also if the time gap ia less than 4 hours..pls help

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children.
But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out .
Antipyfretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful .
Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of acppetite less urine output is there .
