Q.

My baby girl is 11 months old..From the very beginning she was on formula milk..At present her weight is around 8.5 kg..we provide her solid food after 6 months..what should we do to increase her weight??

A. Good Growth of the child is very important and for this most important is that child should take a healthy diet where its necessary to give a balance diet which should contain all the nutrition required. This is very important for building the immunity also. Encourage for green vegetables fruits dairy products all kinds of dal and other protein containing food items like soyabean eggs etc. Some nutritional deficiencies can be a cause for less appetite like iron deficiency which is most common. Supplements like iron supplements and multivditamin with lysine like syp zincovit CL can be given for 1-2 months to increase the appetite. Diet counfdselling is also very important .

A. Hi parents please give easily digestible food like curd rice and khichdi vegetable soup and upma daliya mash etc you can give small quantity of soji halva sira rab laddu pancakes sabudana porridge etc please give daily massage with Babyhug coconut oil
