A. Thumb sucking is very common and normal for a 4-month-old baby as it helps them feel secure and soothe themselves. To gently reduce this habit, try offering a pacifier or a soft toy for comfort. Distract her with play or cuddles when she starts sucking her thumb. Avoid scolding or forcing her to stop, as this can cause stress. Over time, as she grows and finds other ways to self-soothe, the thumb sucking usually decreases on its own.
