A. If your baby is refusing to eat and seems to be feeling very hot, it could be a sign of an underlying issue that needs attention. A lack of appetite and increased body temperature can indicate illness, such as an infection or a viral illness. Common symptoms that accompany fever in infants include irritability, fussiness, and lethargy. It’s essential to monitor her temperature and any other symptoms, such as coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, or changes in behavior. If she is also refusing to take milk, this can lead to dehydration, especially if she is not consuming enough fluids. In this case, it's crucial to encourage her to drink fluids, whether through breast milk, formula, or even oral rehydration solutions if recommended by a pediatrician. Given her symptoms, it's important to consult your pediatrician as soon as possible. They can evaluate her condition, determine if there’s an underlying health issue, and provide appropriate treatment. In the meantime, ensure she remains comfortable by keeping her cool and offering plenty of cuddles and reassurance. If she shows any signs of dehydration, such as dry mouth, fewer wet diapers, or excessive sleepiness, seek medical help immediately.
