Q.

my baby boy can already talk well but he is just not even trying to communicate if he wants to pee or poop. i have been taking him to bathroom for more than half year. if i take him to bathroom he uses the loo in the bathroom but if i miss taking him even once he just goes wherever he is. i have tried to talk to him, show examples of his cousins and even be strict to him but he just wont even try to tell if has the urge to pee or poop. any suggestions on how to make him communicate?

A. potty training and toilet training should be initiated as soon as the child completes one and half years of age. avoid before that except if you feel that the child is giving cues when he or she wants to pass stool. also good demonstration has to be given again and again to the child to reinforce the habit. make the child sit on potty seaxt daily so that the child gets accustomed and not fearful of the seat and situation kindly go through various articles on potty training on firstcry. x please be patient as after starting training it may take 6 months also for the child to learn.
