my 4 months baby boy has cough and fever, so I have consulted the pediatrician, he suggested to use 1 ml of cefpodoxime oral suspension ip twice a day, can we use this antibiotic for 4 months old baby?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough and Cold along with the symptom like Fever loss of appetite irritability could be a feature of viral infection or seasonalg flu where most of the time supportive treatment is given.
along with that cough exvpectorant and decongestant with antiallergic medicine given.
steam inhalation can be given frequently to relieve the symptoms.

Yes if it is advised by a paediatrician then yes you should definitely start giving it twice a day. Because viral infection doesn’t get cure without any antibiotic so you have to give antibiotics to your baby to cure it. You should never give any sort of medication till it is not advised by
