Q.

my 3.5 months old baby has slight bleeding in stool. Doctor has asked to do routine and microscopic stool examination. His stool appears normal most of the time, sometimes reddish streaks. I'm confused on how to collect the sample. How much stool needs to be given for test and even if stool appears normal can I give that sample?

A. hi dear Blood in a baby's stool may indicate a temporary issue, such as constipation. However, it can also signal a life threatening medical condition, such as necrotizing enterocolitis. It can be difficult for caregivers to diagnose the cause at home, so it is crucial to get a professional diagnosis.
