A child may get fussy about meals and it is just a phase! Try to give your child variations with food. Keep the ingredients simple like 1-2 per meal. Make finger foods that are not messy, quick to eat and tasty. Some options you can try are: Mini idlis, vegetable poppers, pancakes, dal chillas, vegetable sticks with dip, Fruit yoghurt etc. Get creative and use various sizes, shapes, textures and flavours to make the meals attractive!

The most common reason is simply lacking the sensory awareness and/or tongue coordination to fully chew and swallow certain foods. Instead, they chew or suck on the food, and pocket it.
