Hello dear parent, a baby usually starts talking after age 2  and with 2.5 years. 
For  that you will also have to interact with your child a lot and in a very clear tone. 
So do not worry much about it. But if your doctor has prescribed a syrup then better follow your doctor. As doctor has examined the child and guiding on that basis.
