my 2.5 year old son developed fever 5 days back. After giving crocin 5ml for full day (gap of 4-6 hrs). His fever was over next day. After that he developed runny nose which is still going on and since yesterday a little cough he has developed. I consulted his Paediatrician who said no need to give any medicine he will be fine on his own. But I am v worried. development of cough is not related to any pneumonia like symptoms or anything serious. can anyone pls help. He is v active and playful and active otherwise. His runny nose is also not going.Also, his appetite has decrease a bit for the past 2 days but he is still active and playful. pls help m v worried.

Fever is  when  the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid preparations.
cold sponging of the whole body whfith tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .
