Q.

My 15 months son got fever a month ago and recovered in a week after that he lost his appetite..Apart from that he is fine, very active as usual but not eating food properly..His weight is 9.9 kgs and now due to loss of appetite he is not gaining weight...is there a syrup that will help to get his appetite back or to weight gain.

A. for good Growth of the child it is important that the child should get proper nutritional requirement which is very important for the growing child specially iron and vitamin D is required for better growth and cognition . also there is role of other micronutrients. one should ensure that the child should get a prfoper balanced diet which contains all types of nutrients essential for gjrowth. any kind of infection specially any chronic infection should be ruled out and treated which may hamper the growth otherwise. after 2 years of age you can give some powder like kids Pro/ prohance junior mix in milk twice a day for one or two months.

A. hi weight is good enough no need to worry about it but yes to increase your child apetite ,give natural apetizers like soup, coconut water, nimbupani etc more give tiny piece of ginger with pinch of salt and few drops of lemon juice before half an hour of meal time.
