POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month3 months agoA. For a 4-month-old baby on formula feed, additional calcium supplements are usually not required if the baby is taking the recommended amount of formula, as most infant formulas are already fortified with the necessary calcium and vitamin D.
However, if your doctor has specifically advised calcium supplementation (possibly due to low birth weight, prematurity, or medical conditions), follow their guidance regarding dosage and duration. Typically, such supplements are reviewed and adjusted at 6 months or during follow-up checkups based on baby's growth and blood reports.
Do not give calcium supplements without pediatric consultation, as excess calcium can also cause problems.
