yes it is firm. Running nose and cold cough may be a sign of any viral infection . May be due to seasonal changes . Just steam as a home remedy along with montair lc and ascoril for cough and cold may be used .

cough and cold may be infective  or allergic in cause.give steam to relieve congestion which is of great help and nasoclear drops can also be used in nose multiple times. can also give sinarest drops .cough syrup or nebulization should be given according to the type of cough and only under the guidance of your pediatrician .self medication is not advisable.
 if the cough is productive give asthakind-ls. Usually due to the symptoms if the child is not showing interest in having food, give only simple home-made preparations as required, can give certain fruits like apple, papaya etc. ,child will start to eat as symptoms resolve.
