Fir 4 year old baby, u can increase the amount of nutmeg in the desi ghee method. Plus you can even increase the amount of nutmeg when you give him/her for consuming. Make paste with water and give like a quarter spoon of paste mix with some honey.

Steam inhalation will help you the most.
As home remedy, you can use nutmeg. You can make paste of nutmeg and mix around a drop of it in 1 teaspoon desi ghee and apply to baby's palms and feet,and keep them covered for atleast half an hour.
You can also make a paste of nutmeg with your breast milk and give it to your baby. Just a little bit of paste, like a drop only.

Cold is most of the time because of any viral infection that is flu infection you can give some decongestant like syrup ascoril flu also steam inhalation can be given consult your doctor for more gguidance
