is is good for the baby of 4.5 months old to have cough medicine as one of the child specialist to whom I have approached he prescribed azithral and brozedex drops apart from salbair

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be ttreated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cohiugh.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

I would not comment on the medication
but when she has cough , you may keep a bowl of chopped onion near her bed approx three feet far over night
take sunbathing daily with her head and ears covered in the morning
keep her Hydrated
