A. To prevent dehydration in your baby, follow these precautions: 1. Ensure Proper Hydration Breastfeeding Babies (Below 6 Months) – Continue exclusive breastfeeding, as breast milk provides all the hydration needed. Formula-Fed Babies – Prepare formula correctly and offer regular feeds. Babies Above 6 Months – Give small sips of water, homemade soups, and fresh fruit purees. 2. Watch for Signs of Dehydration Fewer wet diapers (less than 6 in a day). Dry lips, sunken eyes, or excessive sleepiness. Dark yellow urine or no tears while crying. 3. Protect from Heat & Illness Keep your baby in a cool, well-ventilated area during hot weather. Avoid excessive layering of clothes. If the baby has diarrhea or vomiting, give ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) in small sips after consulting a doctor. 4. When to See a Doctor? ⚠️ Baby refuses to feed or is extremely drowsy. ⚠️ No urine output for 6+ hours. ⚠️ Severe diarrhea or vomiting. Keeping a close eye on feeding patterns and diaper changes will help ensure your baby stays hydrated. Let me know if you need more details!
