A. Applying hot coconut oil works wonders for dry scalp. It can help lock in moisture in your hair follicles and hydrate your scalp. It also kills microbes in your hair and stimulate the production of oil in your scalp. Heat up coconut oil to a lukewarm temperature and add a few drops of tea tree oil. Apply this oil on your son's scalp and massage well for 4-8 mins. Let it sit on your kid's scalp for an hour and then rinse using cold water and a mild shampoo. Do this atleast twice in a week. Lemon juice has astringent properties that help treat the dandruff problem. It alkalizes the scalp and treats any fungal infections and toxins which are known to worsen the problem of dry scalp. Squeeze half a lemon to extract the juice and apply the juice on your kid's scalp. Let it sit for 5 mins and rinse normally. Do this twice a week.
