This may due to either allergy or infection and some times due to climate changes and temperature variations .
For cold you can give drops wikoryl AF 0.5 ml to the child 2-3 times per day. 
try to prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops frequently for nasal blockage, simple cough and cold. Indirect steam is helpful.

Home remedies like Tulsi Ginger diluted with water combinatiocn (honey can be added after 1 year age)and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day.
Give warm water to drink 
If no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor 
paracetamol for fever and pain.

Cold is most of the time because of some viral infection or allergic condition and symptoms are usually sneezing, running nose, nasal congestion and fever. cough along with throat irritation are  usually associated .
Treatment consists of antiallergic antipyretics analgesics and decongestants medicine .
As a home remedy steam inhalation would be very useful .
Medicines like wikoryljy / tminic / Alex cold can be used  in a proper dose  for 3-5 days as per the symptoms .
Steam inhalation is repeated frequently .
