Hi ...my son is 1 year an 3months old he has habit of thumb sucking he says only ka ka or bow bow an rarely amma will this thumb sucking affects the speaking skills ..

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 6 yr old girl4 years agoA. it will go by age. Looks like just normal as in some of babies . For now nothing to worry about and of feel to be having some problem then should consult a near by doctor for same . Do not give any medication without doctor advise

Jasmine KaurMom of a 9 yr 7 m old boy4 years agoA. Hello dear parent, ideally thumb Sucking does not affect speaking skills. Currently baby is oy 1 year 3 months old and babies start speaking after age 18 months or above. So.do not worry. You can tie your baby's thumb with a clean cloth so that he is unable to put that in his mouth.
