please dont give cough syrups by own
because cough syrups can be given as per symptoms whether there is dry or wet coughing.
but instead of some homemade remedies are good and equally effective to treat this like :
you can give mixture of roasted ajwain seeds ,pinch of turmeric powder and salt in very small quantity twice or thrice in a day
