Hi, my daughter is 1.7 yrs old. She has a running nose since morning. Can I give her Atarax? How much quantity and how many times?

A. Hello, your baby girl is 21 months old and she is having running nose since morning so don’t give her syrup Atarax which can cause drowsiness but give her sinarest 2 ml three times a day

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms lbtike cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained . here thereafter you can consult with your doctor and get further suggestions regarding ththe query to clear all your doubts in proper way which would be helpful here .
