Q.

Hi, My baby is in 4th week now.. he got jaundice and got phototherapy on second week. Post therapy the jaundice has come to normal. However I can still see little yellow in his eye. How long will it take to fade away?? Also I'm unable to show sunlight due to weather conditions...will yellowish go away automatically or is sunlight necessary for it to fade??

A. yes sunlight has got a different wavelength and it will give only vitamin d to the child and it will not help in decreasing the jaundice

A. no the treatment is required and you have to just continue regular breastfeeding of the child and gradually the jaundice will go away from the skin of the child as well as the eyes and it might take around one or two months more
