hi my baby got pcv vaccine at 4 weeks in government, at 6 weeks in private hospital. now can we go for 3rd dose at 10weeks??? please note 1st dose given at government and 2nd dose given at private

A. thank you so much for your response. however my question is we have gone for below doses. 1st at 6 weeks in government 2nd at 10weeks in private now can we go for 3rd dose at 14 weeks in government?? is it safe??

A. pcv which also stands for pneumococcal vaccine is a very important vaccine and is mandatory for all children. at present the vaccine is that much important that the indian government is giving it now free of cost in regular vaccination schedule. meet your doctor who will tell you the schedule for pneumococcal xvaccine. even if it was missed previously you can go for it now also. this vaccine prevents infection due to pneumococcal bacteria which can affect the brain throat chest the child.

I noticed they give only 2 vaccine at 10 weeks whereas in private hospital the same vaccine of 6 weeks is repeated at 10 weeks. Q. #AskTheExpert My daughter is 2.5 months old, yesterday she had her 10weeks vaccination done at government hospital. They have given her Rotavirus, polio drops & Penta vaccine. They have not given her pcv & ipv when I asked them why they are not giving, they said as per government pcv & ipv vaccine should be given only on 6 & 14 weeks.
