Q.

Hi mam.. my baby is 5 months older and we started to give complementary foods to her. Per day how many times we can give complementary foods and how much amount of drinking water should give.. shall we add salt to food items. what are the best complementary foods?

A. Start by offering small amounts of solids once a day.. preffer day time to feed. Follow three day rule. Breastfeeding or formula feeding should continue alongside the solid foods, as they still form an essential part of the infant diet till 1 year. Give vegetables (eg pumpkin, potato, sweet potato, carrot puree) fruits (eg cooked pears/apple, ripe banana) . Moong Daal water, rice kangi. Ragi porridge, rice porridge. do not add salt n sugar in baby food
