POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy4 years agoA. I am answering this question with reference to Indian Govt hospitals. Yes, the govt, hospitals are ‘safe’ to vaccinate your child, and you will save some money. But be informed that govt hospitals do not necessarily give the same set of vaccines you would have received in a private setup. For example: Private practitioners have recommended and given the Pneumococcal PCV-13 vaccine since the last 10 years, but it is still not given in govt hospitals.
Another example is Rubella vaccine. Private practitioners have been giving rubella vaccine for more 30 years now. But its inclusion in the govt’s vaccination is comparatively recent. Lot of innocent lives have been spoilt by congenital rubella syndrome during these years.
