Q.
Hi doctor. My baby is 7 months old. He had cough three months back so my pediatrician suggested mucolite drops. Now he is again having cough can I give mucolite drops again for my 7 months old baby.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expecvtorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol cbgan be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

Sarika guptaMom of 2 children3 years agoA. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and yes you can repeat the same syrup with doctor evaluation and also give your baby indirect steam twice a day and also apply Luke warm mustard oil on baby chest.
