Steps to Clean Baby's Tongue
Wash Your Hands
Before touching your baby's mouth, clean your hands properly.
Use a Soft Cloth or Gauze
Take a soft, clean cloth or sterile gauze. Dip it in lukewarm water or baby-safe saline water.
Gently Wipe the Tongue
Wrap the damp cloth around your index finger. Gently rub the tongue in a circular motion to remove milk residue or white coating.
Clean the Gums & Inner Cheeks (Optional)
You can also gently wipe the gums and inside the cheeks.
Use a Silicone Finger Brush (Optional)
You can also use a silicone baby tongue cleaner or finger brush to clean the tongue if your baby is comfortable. How Often? Once daily (preferably in the morning) or after the last feed at night.
If the white coating persists, it could be oral thrush (a fungal infection). In that case, consult a pediatrician. Let me know if you need more help!
