Hello, I am a parent of a 18 month baby boy. He was having Nan Pro3 till now. Now planning to switch to cow milk. Kindly suggest how to make the transition. Also I have read in some places about mixing cow milk and formula milk. Is the mixing safe for babies ?? If mixing is safe should I swtich from stage 3 to stage 4 formula now and mix with cow milk?? kindly reply

A. Cow's milk should be given to the baby only after completion of 1 year of age because the protein and fat in cow's milk is hard to digest before that and many a times there could be cow's milk protein allergy in babies and lactose intolerance which couljyd be severe sometimes. Also early introduction of cows milk can lead to iron deficiency anemia as cow's milk lacks iron and vit c . Also there could be micro bleeding in intestine because of the heavy protein of cow's milk .
