Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. they are fontanelle and usually they will close by maximum 18 months of age and only sometimes by 2 years of age.
they are normally present in all infants and is important for the development growth of the brain
it is important to see that the child is not suffering from calcium and vitamin d deficiency as well as the child is not having any other complaxints because their deficiency is the common cause of delayed closure of fontanelle.

RashmiMom of a 11 yr old girl1 Year agoA. Usually in First 17 months we can expect that it is going to close down and fill up on its own over the period like by the time of 17 months otherwise if it does not happen then you can consult your doctor one time for further assistance on that
