Q.

Hello Doctor, My three months old baby is consuming just the foremilk and not the hindmilk. The breastfeeding session now a days is lasting for 5 - 10 mins. I'm concerned about her gaining weight. Could you please let me know what could be the potential cause and how to correct it? Further, would that help if I start expressing some of the foremilk out and then latching her? Thanks!

A. nothing like that. Newborn needs time to finish breasts but as they grow up they finish breasts soon. don't worry. child should double it's birth weight by completion of Six month and triples by one year

A. hi well , ideally ,a child should take feeding atleast 20 minutes from each breast . so ,I advise to try different feeding positions. make skin to skin Contact while feeding your child which help to encourage your child to take more feeds.
