Hello doctor. My baby is 9 months old. He is on solids completely in the day time without formula milk . In the night he is sucking his thumb but not drinking formula milk. Is it because he is not liking the taste? Or can I leave him whole night without milk?

Thumb sucking in infants is a very normal phenomenon and its called mouthing reflex and nothing to be worried about it just maintain proper hygiene and with time this thing will go .
In the toddlers thumb sucking habit is also seen many a times which could be phycological cause and feeling of insecurity or some stress . Just try to make the child comfortable and divert in some activities also spend good time with the child . 
In extreme case withdrawal can be tried with some solution available which are bitter lRed Colour Rash over the body if present could be some allergy rashes which may be of sudden onset along with itching.
or it could be viral exanthematous rash where the the onset of rashes is there along with fever or assosiated symptoms. and it could be some infection also which needsh proper examination.
Application of calamine lotion or Anti itch lotion like Ritch lotion can be done  for soothing along with antiallergic medications initially.ike femite lotion . It needs to be applied locally .
