Q.

Hello doctor, My baby girl is 5 days old. total bilirubin - 13.4mg/dl direct bilirubin - 1.3mg/dl indirect bilirubin - 12.1 mg/dl is it serious? please suggest what to do?

A. It can be physiological jaundice. Get your baby evaluated by the doctor in person. It is important in this case. Avoid home remedies in this case. Make sure the baby is comfortable and well cared. Always feed your baby on demand. Maintain proper hygiene. Always feed the baby in an upright position. Burp the baby during and after each feed.
