Q.

Hello doctor,my 1.9 year old son has got sudden fever today evening at 4.30pm(temp 99.4 f) and I had given 4ml crocin 120 suspension drops at 5.30pm and in the night time 10.30pm I found that temp was 101.4 f and I gave him 5drops of sinarest,what to do next,Pls advise

A. Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid prhieparations. cold sponging of the whole body with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .
