hello doctor mere baby ko 1week phle fever tha but vo 3days me thik ho gya..but usko sneezing runny nose ki problem thi doctor ne L-hist prescribe ki but ab runny nose problem thik ho gyi..but vo 1 day me 3 ya 4 time coughing ho rhi usme pata chalta hai ki iske chest me cough h kya du Mai ise

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a prgioper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed.
if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
