POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. For a newborn with mosquito bites and itching, it's important to be cautious with treatments. Here are some steps you can take:
1. **Cool Compress**: Gently apply a cool, damp cloth to the affected areas to help reduce itching and swelling.
2. **Moisturizer**: Use a gentle, fragrance-free baby moisturizer or emollient to soothe the skin.
3. **Avoid Scratching**: Keep your baby's nails short or consider using baby mittens to prevent scratching, which can lead to infection.
4. **Consult a Pediatrician**: Before applying any medication, it's best to consult your pediatrician, especially given your baby's age. They may recommend a safe, mild topical treatment if necessary.
5. **Prevent Future Bites**: Ensure the baby sleeps under a mosquito net and keep the environment mosquito-free.
For now, avoid using any over-the-counter anti-itch creams or ointments without consulting your doctor, as many are not suitable for newborns.
